It's now available for streaming on NPO Start From rejection to cultural heritage: ‘HARD’ tells the story of a genre that has evolved and found its way for more than thirty years since its foundation until today. What started as an underground movement in warehouses is now an international multimillionare industry. Whenever the harder styles appeared in mainstream media, they were marked as drug-fuelled, with crazy fans. ‘HARD’ shows the reality: the harder styles scene and crowd is one of the most fantastic cultural movements the Netherlands has ever produced. With the participation of Brennan Heart, The Prophet, Paul Elstak and many more This documentary shows the story from its core. It features exclusive interviews and never-before-seen footage. The likes of Paul Elstak, DJ Rob, Da Mouth of Madness, Brennan Heart, Promo, The Prophet, Korsakoff or Duncan Stutterheim share their stories at this documentary. The series is a collaboration between the creators of ‘De Taxioolog’ and Ame van Terphoven, who has documented the history of the harder styles through books including ‘Uit Het Hard’, ‘Multigroove’, and ‘Wat de fok, ouwe’. The documentary is now available to stream on NPO Start.
