Atmozfears reveals a special remix of ‘Release’ to celebrate its 10th anniversary

This new version keeps the aura and magic of the original version with an updated touch.

Tim Van de Stadt, also known as Atmozfears, is one of the most successful producers in the history of euphoric hardstyle. If we look at his discography in the past years, we can find several major hits such as ‘Accelerate’ (with Code Black), ‘Reawakening’ (with Audiotricz), ‘Keep Me Awake’, ‘The Soul’, and many more. Nevertheless, probably one of the most important tracks of his career is ‘Release’.

‘Release’ is definitely a part of hardstyle history and legacy. We can’t think of many more tracks that define the euphoric hardstyle era as well as this one does. It has resonated on the biggest stages of this genre, even taking place at Defqon.1 Legends this year, being a part of Tim’s sets for the past decade. Now, it’s time to honour this big hit with a new version of it: the 10-Year Remix.

“I think it became one of the tracks that made my career”

The original version of ‘Release’ was published on Scantraxx in mid-2015. Now, 10 years later, we get to see this updated version on the same label. Why did Atmozfears decide to make this rework? “I’ve noticed people still really react whenever I play the tune out, but it felt to me the arrangement and mix were feeling a bit dated”, Tim admits. “I really wanted to keep playing it, but in some parties I tended not to just because of it. I tried to stay as close to the original feel of the track as I could without taking away any of the magic that it has”.

As we mentioned, this track has been part of many core memories for hardstyle fans around the world over the past 10 years. What about Tim? What are the best memories attached to this track for him? “Qlimax 2014 and Defqon.1 2024”, he answered. “I played the track almost ten years later, and I had such a mind-melting moment at the MAGENTA. I was closing down the stage before the RED opened on Sunday, and I have never seen a bigger crowd singing along to every bit of it... Shout out again to everyone who was there, you definitely made my weekend there!”
