D-Fence drops remix of Stampuhh!! by The Prophet & Deepack

Every hard dance raver know the iconic (Dutch) words. "1... 2... STAMPUH!" The original track by The Prophet and Deepack has dominated the biggest music festivals worldwide. Today, hardcore legend D-Fence released an official remix of 'Stampuhh!!' on SCANTRAXX.

For D-Fence, 'Stampuhh!!' is a true classic. "The track has such a recognizable melody and very powerful kicks. When I heard this track in a Spotify playlist, I immediately felt inspired to make a hardcore remix," tells D-Fence to Hardstyle.com. On top of that, the DJ got the opportunity to remix the track for Defqon.1's POWER HOUR. "That was a really cool bonus, which eventually led to the creation of this hardcore remix of the track."

Weekend Warriors that were present at this year's edition of Defqon.1 Weekend Festival, might remember the insane crowd reaction that D-Fence's remix of 'Stampuhh!!' evoked. Tens of thousands of people at the mighty RED mainstage experienced the unique energy that the track added to POWER HOUR. D-Fence still remembers this moment vividly. "The well-known shout went through bone and marrow: STAMPEN!"

D-Fence about The Prophet: "He has been a continuous source of inspiration"

Throughout D-Fence's musical career, The Prophet has been a continuous source of inspiration. "I used to regularly go to MindController at the Hemkade, where I saw The Prophet play an early rave set. Many of those early hits, he had edited with a new kick or sound." From that moment, D-Fence often went to sets from the SCANTRAXX-pioneer. "He always played a wide range of styles, including hardcore. This inspired me to make my own edits of those old early tracks."

Even though he put a lot of effort in it, back in the days, those edits did not sound great yet, laughs D-Fence. "Actually, they sounded terrible because I was just a bedroom producer with a cheap surround system from MediaMarkt." Later, during the hardcore sets of The Prophet, D-Fence had really found a gem in his eyes. "I found two tracks that fit perfectly together: 'The First Rebirth' combined with 'War Is Coming'. The kicks were still hard and raw back then."

If he could remix any other track by The Prophet in the future, the hardcore DJ would pick 'Killing Scum!'. "That melody is very catchy and belongs to the older hardcore classics. It seems cool to make a remix focusing on the melody and synths."
