DJ The Prophet writes history: ‘Wanna Play?’ becomes the first Hardcore track ever to reach 100 million streams
Hard Dance producer and former DJ, DJ The Prophet (Dov Elkabas), has reached a historic milestone in Hardcore music. His track “Wanna Play?”, released on his own label SCANTRAXX, has surpassed 100 million streams, becoming the first Hardcore track ever to do so. This achievement marks a major moment for the retired artist as well as for the Hardcore scene.
Released in May 2019, the track made an immediate impact. “The first time I played it, the crowd just screamed WHAAA! and I instantly knew this was going to be big,” says DJ The Prophet. Its now-iconic vocal line, “One for the night, two for the day, let’s hit the road, ’cause we don’t play!”, quickly became a recognizable hook for Hard Dance fans worldwide.
A year after its release, Wanna Play? found new momentum on TikTok, where the sound exploded following Voidax’s now-famous in-car video with his girlfriend: “Me when my jam plays on the radio.” The video set a massive trend in motion, inspiring hundreds of thousands of users to create their own versions. As a result, the track experienced a massive resurgence nearly two years after its initial release.
1 billion views on social-media
The viral success of the track has resulted in outstanding global performance. Across TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram, the sound has now accumulated over 1 billion views, along with millions of likes and comments. It entered the Shazam charts in 28 countries and reached the TikTok “Popular” charts in 12 countries.

A special moment behind the milestone
To mark the milestone, SCANTRAXX surprised DJ The Prophet during the SCANTRAXX Christmas outing with a special tribute. For those who know, DJ The Prophet’s daughter appeared in the original Wanna Play? videoclip - a moment he has always been incredibly proud of. Now, with the track reaching 100 million streams, he was presented with an updated video featuring both of his children, congratulating him on this achievement.
With these achievements, DJ The Prophet strengthens his position as one of the key names in the Hard Dance scene. Wanna Play? shows how strongly his music connects with the culture and how a track can keep reaching people worldwide, even years after its release.
