ONYX release their first ever single: ‘BARKING DOGS’

A new mysterious act has landed! This masked duo has launched their very first release on none other than Rebelion’s ACID REIGN label. “ONYX is a movement, a collective voice.”

‘BARKING DOGS’ is their presentation to this scene. With very powerful rawstyle drops, unique vocals, a strong message and a very melodic climax at the end, this track represents the perfect letter of introduction to this duo. “We want people to interpret our music with their own stories and link it with their own personal narrative. Let the haters bark whilst working harder to prove them wrong”, they claim.

Their enigmatic appearance is something that catches the eye. The suspicions among fans have started but the reality is that nobody knows who’s standing behind their masks. “Nothing can or will be revealed about our identity”, they say. Where does this project come from? “The inspiration for creating ONYX came from a deep personal need for more melody, thematic depth, and creative variation in today’s raw scene”.

ONYX is still an independent act - no label, no agency but freedom and a strong mindset for what they stand for and what they want to achieve and transmit. ‘BARKING DOGS’ has just been released on ACID REIGN. “We had a lot of good talks with labels to facilitate our first release. We had a good feeling with all the parties we talked to but in the end we chose ACID REIGN”, they say. “The boys from Rebelion and the ACID REIGN team immediately showed their interest and 100% trust in our act. This gave us a good feeling”.

8 ONYX tracks finished

Nevertheless, this is only the beginning. The duo told us they have up to 8 tracks already finished, including a collab. What can you expect from them in the upcoming months? “A unique blend of emotional depth and pure energy: singing vocals, harsh rap flows, and heavy-hitting kicks that hit you right in the chest. We’re super happy with the first response to ONYX online and really can’t wait to show you all what we got!”, they answered.
