Vertile sheds light on his Shutdown Festival anthem

Being on the rise for years, Vertile is simply unstoppable. Now, the Dutch hardstyle DJ has composed this year's Shutdown Festival anthem. Impressively, he not only created the track but also performed the vocals with his distinctive voice. 

With numerous hits under his belt, Vertile has quickly become an absolute icon in the Hard Dance scene. Now, with the Shutdown Festival 2024 anthem called 'Run Away', he continues the legacy of incredible anthems such as 'Rebels of Shutdown' by Rebelion in 2023 and 'Never Shut Us Down' by Ran-D in 2022.

Shutdown festival takes place in a very unique and historic location: the Zwentendorf nuclear power plant. This power plant never went operational due to a public referendum in 1978. Since 2017, the power plant has been the hotspot for Hard Dance fans. Every year, over 15,000 visitors gather to celebrate for 12 hours across five stages.

Vertile reveals details about his Shutdown Festival anthem

A few months ago, Shutdown Festival unveiled its spectacular lineup with 60 artists like Rebelion, Sickmode, Ran-D, and many more. The Dutch hardstyle DJ is renowned for his unique style and powerful kicks, as well as incorporating his own voice into his tracks.

This year, Vertile produced the Shutdown Festival anthem, 'Run Away'. When he first played it at both Defqon.1 Weekend Festival and Electric Love Festival, the crowd reaction was memorable. "It's always great to play new tunes, especially playing it in the country where the anthem is going to represent the festival. The reactions on the Shutdown anthem were great, especially considering the hard trend nowadays. I think the serious yet hard tone of this anthem triggers both the spectrums though," Vertile explains. 

The anthem embodies everything Shutdown Festival stands for: forget about everyday life and let loose with your friends for one day. With an emotive first melody drop, Hardstyle fans are embarking on a journey that invites to go absolutely wild in the rough & raw second drop. Vertile’s very own vocals perfectly round up the track and make it an instant hit.

Vertile: "The vibe at Shutdown Festival is always great"

Vertile is a familiar face for Shutdown Festival. "I started out on the raw stage back in 2022. I think it was one of the first, if not the very first big festival I played in Austria. The vibe at Shutdown Festival is always great. Moving to the mainstage last year was a big highlight for me, having more music and bigger releases which people and fans already knew and expected from me definitely made it easier for me to please the crowd." 

For this years edition of Austria's hardest dance festival, people can expect a lot of Vertile's set. "I'm in a great vibe in my studio lately, so expect new stuff, an amazing anthem show together with Shutdown Festival, and good singalong vibes all over in general. Like always," he winks.
