Bright Visions explores new style with brand-new EP COLLATERAL DAMAGE

Bright Visions' newest EP, COLLATERAL DAMAGE, was released last Friday. The EP, which features three brand-new tracks, showcases the evolution of his sound as a SCANTRAXX NEXXUS artist. Hardstyle.com sat down with him to discuss the release, this new signature sound, and the upcoming festival season.

"To me, COLLATERAL DAMAGE represents my version of Bright Visions 2.0. It shows a newly evolved version of who I am as an artist and what my sound is," tells Bright Visions proudly. The artist's evolution is reflected not only in the recognizable sound but also in the self-created artworks that go along with all the new tracks.

For the SCANTRAXX NEXXUS artist, this style change feels like he's bringing something new to the hardstyle scene. "Some might notice the combination I've made with hardstyle and Phonk music," he explains. "Combining these two styles has never been done before, and I think it goes hand in hand with raw and my sound." The style change started with a previous track, SIX NINE, where he used this combination between Phonk and Raw for the first time. "After that release, I was inspired, and a certain number of tracks came out, which gave me a renewed look with visuals and artwork." 

Bright Visions mentions that the name of the EP, COLLATERAL DAMAGE, is inspired by the video game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. "These new tracks felt so heavy and raw, as if you were hit by a .50 cal sniper. Additionally, each track and artwork contains a common thread connecting the EP. So, when you hit multiple targets with one shot, you call it a collateral in CS:GO. That's how I came up with the name."

As we've talked about before, COLLATERAL DAMAGE allows Bright Visions to showcase his renewed sound with three powerful tracks. "My new music is quite a 180-degree turn from the music I previously released on SCANTRAXX," he explains. Yet, SCANTRAXX fully supports him, and therefore, the label means a lot to him. "SCANTRAXX was my first encounter with hardstyle music. The label has been a great deal to me, both as a fan and an artist. It's a label that stands for quality within the scene, a platform with a significant legacy, and the freedom for young talent to release their music." 

When discussing his favorite EP track, he specifically mentions COME CLOSE TO. "Back in the days, in 2020, Demi Kanon & Atmozfears were SCANTRAXX's A&R's. They checked this track and thought it had a lot of potential. Now, 10000 versions later, this is finally the end result."
