These are this year’s Defqon.1 Legends
Since year and day, the mighty RED mainstage has been reserved only for Defqon.1 Legends at the Sunday of the festival. It’s a tradition to close down the festival with these legends, and in all those years, we had a great variety of Legends grace the stage. Looking back at previous Legends and celebrating brand-new ones, the Weekend Warriors of this year’s event were in for a treat. These are this year’s Defqon.1 Legends.
On Sunday, Q-dance had something special in store for the 20th edition of Defqon.1 Weekend Festival. Not one, not three, but five full hours of Defqon.1 Legends to close down the event. Those five hours came with ten (!) different Legends, presented in pairs of two. We’re proud to discuss them all below.
Coone & Da Tweekaz
A lot of people were upset that they couldn’t find Coone at this year’s Defqon.1 line-up. Surprise surprise: he appeared on stage being a true Defqon.1 Legend. 10 years ago, he made everybody scream from the top of their lungs with his anthem Survival of the Fittest. In this edition of Defqon.1, he did that all over again.
Da Tweekaz have been a major force in the harder styles industry. This dynamic duo stays true to their sound, even as kicks evolve. With their unique style, they even managed to get their latest release, La Di Da, at the number one spot among all the raw hardstyle tracks on our Hardstyle.com Top 40. They've proven that happy, melodic hardstyle is far from dead, finally earning them a place in the Legends Ceremony.
Sound Rush & Wildstylez
Not only did Sound Rush craft this year’s Defqon.1 anthem, but the twins were also featured as Legends on the impressive RED mainstage. Known as one of the strongest duos in the scene, they played hit after hit. Not many artists can claim they’ve both opened and closed a weekend event, but these guys can now boast that achievement!
Wildstylez can truly be called a Legend. In 2022, he already approached his Legend status together with Headhunterz and Noisecontrollers. Not a single Defqon.1 goes by without the entire audience singing along to their masterpiece of an anthem, which they created in 2013.
D-Sturb & Act of Rage
Although D-Sturb has been releasing hardstyle music since 2015, he just dropped his first solo album this April. A few months post-release, many of his album tracks thundered through the speakers both during his solo set on the RED stage on Friday and during his Legends debut. A well-deserved honor for this true raw fanatic.
Last year, Act of Rage delivered an amazing set on the RED mainstage of Defqon1, which left the crowd wanting more. “After 9 years, we did it. The mighty Defqon.1 mainstage,” he posted on Instagram. Now, only one year later, the DJ is back at that same spot, earning his status as a Legend.
Devin Wild & Phuture Noize
We explored the depths of his mind with him during The_Innergame… and now, he can call himself a true Defqon.1 Legend. We’re talking about Devin Wild, who easily impresses the audience with his amazing musical arrangements.
At Defqon.1, Phuture Noize worked his way to the top. Ten years ago, he set his foot at Defqon.1 as an artist for the first time. In 2018, he made that year’s anthem together with KELTEK and Sefa. And last year, he amazed the crowd during his emotional Opening Ceremony. Now, he can call himself a Defqon.1 Legend.
TNT & DJ Isaac
Technoboy & Tuneboy, together known as TNT, are two Italian innovators that basically created the term Hardstyle over two decades ago. They played a major role in popularizing hardstyle in the Netherlands and have produced many hits. There’s no question that these two are legends.
He makes us feel so good… and that’s exactly why DJ Isaac returned as a Defqon.1 Legend this year. His track ‘Feel So Good’ was one of the most played hard dance tracks in 2023 - and hearing that one at the Defqon.1 RED was magical.
