In these past months Regain successfully performed his new live act at Shockerz and Rebirth Festival. For this act, he spent a long time in the studio to reflect on his own productions. He has certainly been active in the studio lately and that is why the Polish producer will release several mini-albums this year.
The first album is planned for April 20, 2022. This will be Regain’s third album. On the upcoming albums, you can find new solo work, older tracks that have been completely renewed, and several remixes. You may have already seen the remix from Scarra in the last livestream session of Regain. In addition, Kenai appeared on stage during the Square One performance at Shockerz to present his remix. Regain’s live-act is the main focus in the release of the mini albums. Much of what you will hear during the act will appear on these mini albums.
WHY “SQUARE ONE”?
“All artists had some more time in these past years, because there were fewer performances. During this time I looked at my own productions / style and I thought it was time to go back to the drawing board: ‘Back to Square One’. With this in mind I have given certain tracks a complete makeover. In addition, I asked talented producers to make a remix and that I think turned out very well.”
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS ACT AND THE ALBUM?
“With my previous acts, the focus has always been on playing exclusive tracks that could only be heard during Regain: LIVE. With “Square One” I want to be more open towards my audience. That’s why I decided to release an album directly after these first “Square One” live performances. Now we’ve had Shockerz and Rebirth Festival and I think the people should hear these edits, remixes and solo work while I’m working on new music again for my live act at Intents Festival and Wish Outdoor.”

YOU OFTEN SEE RE-GAIN AS AN INDICATION OF YOUR LIVE ACT, WHAT IS THE REASON FOR THAT?
“Lately, I got this question a lot. It might be odd to see, but there is also a reason behind it. With the live edits, I want to emphasize: ‘renew’, ‘reinvent’ and ‘remix’. I am reinventing my own style and want to actively involve my audience in it. With my next mini-album the audience will also play a role in the choice of edits that will be released.”
WHY MULTIPLE MINI ALBUMS?
“I think it’s important that you can be flexible. I would like to share the part that I have played now with everyone. The second mini-album of this year could go in any direction. In this way you can add something last minute and you are also more up-to-date. To explain in a simple way: As a visitor you have just heard these tracks during my act. The feeling you get from listening to that track is easier to relive if this music is available right away. This way we can relive these moments.”

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT THE TRACKS OF THE MINI-ALBUM?
“The tracklist will be online soon. I can already tell that my solo track: ‘Back to the Madness’ will be part of the mini-album. In this track, it is immediately clear that I have experimented with new sounds in the form of new strong kicks with a melody next to it.“
The album will be released on April 20, 2022, on Heart for Hard. There is currently no hard copy planned for the album. Pre-save the album here via the available platforms.
